Spring DETOX Guide

Spring DETOX Guide

February 23, 2018

Hello beauties,

Whether the weather does look like spring is coming or not, the nature is undeniably preparing for the arrival of spring. After winter most of us feel numb, our dry skin screaming for help and our soul desperately asking for sunshine. In order to shine bright in spring, I want to share some effective tips to feel fresh and renewed when the first sun rays hit the frozen, post-winter ground.

1. Smoothies

The best thing about smoothies is that there are no limitations. You can literally mix up any fruits, veggies and herbs that you like. The right combination of ingredients will cleanse the body from toxins and supply it with necessary nutrients and vitamins. If you want to experiment with ingredients, there’s a whole bunch of smoothie books and e-books full of delicious, healthy recipes.

My favorite smoothie detox recipe is this one:

  • Lemon juice from ½ lemon
  • A piece of ginger
  • 1 banana
  • A handful of baby spinach
  • 1 apple
  • Chia seeds

Spinach and chia seeds are superfoods meant to really boost the energy levels, reduce toxins and supply with nutrients. Apple and banana will add the necessary sweetness, ginger and lemon will wake up your metabolism and refresh you. You can even add a handful of oats and nuts to make it a meal. If your smoothie seems too runny, add a splash of water or a few ice cubes. Another amazingly beneficial ingredients are avocado, kiwi, cucumber, pineapple, berries mint leaves or celery.

2. Tea detox = teatox

If you have decided to detoxify your body, drinking a lot of liquids is necessary. You have two recommended options - clear water and herbal teas (or ideally, their combination :)). Drinking herbal teas has some specifics - many herbs have healing properties that help our body to fight fatigue and various diseases.

  • Agrimony tea is great in cleansing your insides from impurities. Its active ingredients are linked to liver health, skin and digestive issues.
  • Nettle tea cleans blood and contains a lot of iron.
  • Thyme tea not only tastes delicious but also strengthens the immune system and its thymol oil has antioxidant properties.
  • Dandelion tea has amazing healing effects on liver. Its active ingredients allow the liver to more quickly eliminate toxins.
  • Peppermint tea refreshes the system, helps with digestion and improves better blood flow.
  • Black currant tea rejuvenates and eliminates fatigue and exhaustion.

3. Move, move, move

The essence of every healthy body and soul is exercise. Is your body tired from all the cold winter days? Start with something easier, like yoga or pilates. These types of exercises will give you energy to the new days and enlighten your spirit. If you don’t feel like taking a class, you can even try some easier flow at home in your living room. Honestly, any type of just moving your body around is good. It’s getting warmer, grab your trainers and go for a walk!

4. Skin purification

Take it to the next level and detoxify from the outside as well. After the winter your skin is dry, dehydrated and tired. It lacks nourishment and hydration. Layers of the skin are full of dead skin cells that need to be scrapped. MARK green tea face mask contains strong antioxidants to suck out any unnecessary dirt and impurities. MARK face scrub Tea tree & Jojoba scrubs of dead skin, your skin is hydrated and firm. For the rest of your body, pick your favorite aroma of my MARK scrubs to get rid of everything your skin doesn’t need and to stock it with moisture and nutrients.

Enjoy the rest of winter days!

Yours faithfully,

MARK
