Almond Beauty

August 18, 2017

Hello dear,

I often get messages from you thanking me about how I helped you with various skin issues such as dry skin, eczema or acne. Other times you write me how awesome it is that you don’t have to use all those moisturisers and body lotions afterwards because your skin stays perfectly hydrated. So today I decided to finally tell you why. Meet one of my best helpers, Mr. Almond Oil!

Almonds as one of the oldest nuts of Middle East are fruits of the almond tree. Even though there are almost 30 kinds of this nutrient-rich nut, we usually distinguish 2 types according to flavor: sweet and bitter almonds. The sweet ones are those that we consume daily - so I believe you know those pretty well. The oil found in almonds is broadly used in cosmetic industry and is no big news to skin care producers. It’s been known for its powerful beautifying effects since the times of classical antiquity and has been celebrated ever since.

Almond oil is rich in vitamins (mostly vitamin E), minerals and essential fatty acids. It absorbs easily and doesn’t clog pores so the skin is left with no oily residue. Almond oil gets along with both sensitive faces and oilier complexions. And even acne-prone skin too! It regenerates and soothes, which makes it a perfect treatment for dry and sensitive skin. Almond oil is a big helper when it comes to eczema, psoriasis and other skin-related issues. You can even use it for sunburnt skin and as a wrinkle prevention. In combination with caffeine and other natural ingredients, almond oil helps to nourish the skin and protect it from the harsh environment.

Almonds are a gift from mother nature, with uncountable health benefits.

  1. Almonds will strengthen your immune system. As a source of alcaic materials they support  immunity, increase the ability to fight back diseases and various health problems. Vitamin E eliminates harmful free radicals in the body, which support chronic illnesses and can be dangerous for your organs. Antioxidants found in almonds eliminate the risk of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
  2. They’ll help you with weight loss. Mono-unsaturated fats contained in almonds satisfy hunger and prevent overeating and binging.  Studies show that a diet containing almonds and other similar foods is suitable for weight loss of obese people. It is said that almond consumers are more likely to maintain their original, healthy weight.
  3. They have anti-inflammatory properties. Because our bodies cannot create fatty acids on their own, they need to be consumed within our food sources. Almonds contain two very important fatty acid, linoleic and linolenic acid that help reduce the risk of inflammation.
  4. Benefits for your brain. Almonds are a source to many nutrients that help with growth and development of human brain. Nutrients like riboflavin and L-carnitine increase brain activity and create new brain neural pathways, decreasing the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease. Studies have shown that almonds and almond oil contribute to overall health and functioning of the nervous system.

1 tablespoon crashed cocoa beans / raw coconut / cocoa to coat your bites in

A quick and easy recipe for you or your friends. All you need is these 7 ingredients. Just like every raw recipe, you are free to change and alternate the ingredients. Mix everything together, create ball shapes, roll in coconut or cocoa and you’re done!
